WCS Preschool Program
We are very excited to announce that the board has approved of adding a half day preschool program to our campus. This program is currently in the process of submitting an application for licensure and hopes to be open by late September. It is important to note that this program will not guarantee future enrollment for students into Westlake Charter Elementary School, however priority enrollment will be given to founding families, siblings of students currently attending Westlake, children of employees and children of current board members. The waiting list for this program is currently open, and if you would like to be added to the list, or would like more information regarding the program, you can email Ann Panzica at apanzica@pacbell.net , or Elizabeth Williams at mewkc10@yahoo.com.
There are also many volunteer opportunities available in opening the preschool program. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Ann Panzica or Elizabeth Williams. The preschool is also in need of new or gently used donations. If you would like to donate, please contact Ann Panzica.
About Westlake Charter School
Westlake Charter School is a K- 5 public elementary school created by parents and educators in the Natomas area. We opened our doors in
2005 and continue to grow serving more and more students each year.
Westlake Charter School students are EXPLORERS! Our curriculum focuses on diversity and appreciation of different cultures, while promoting academic excellence and foreign language acquisition. We offer various specialty classes for all of our students including Art, Physical Education, and Spanish. We have small class sizes of 20 students in K-3rd grade and 25 students in 4th and 5th grade.
First time visitors to Westlake Charter School often remark, “What a warm and inviting school!” Creating a school that is caring and open is absolutely critical in working successfully with our children and families. Students who feel safe, secure, and appreciated gain a love of learning and will be successful scholars.
Westlake Charter School’s professional staff is relentless in seeking and trying research-based best practices that engage every student. Our lessons are hands-on and differentiated to meet the diverse needs of all students. Our teachers display a never-ending commitment to improving their own expertise. Furthermore, we would not be as successful without the support and involvement of our parents. Our parent group is outstanding in helping us achieve our goals by volunteering their time in class, fundraising for our unique programs, and providing endless words of encouragement and support. Our school team is second to none!
WCS's primary mission is to prepare elementary students with the skills necessary for life-long learning by providing a physically and emotionally safe learning environment that supports academic risk-taking, invites student participation and structures cooperative learning experiences.
