Westlake Charter 3rd Annual Golf Tournament |
This event is in its 3rd year with Chair Phil Nanni. It will take place on Friday, October 5, 2007, at Teal Bend Golf Course. Mainly corporate and local businesses support this fundraiser and the cost of playing covers the expenses. We broke previous records last year with a total profit of $19,000. Parents participate by event organization, soliciting sponsors and working onsite at the tournament. Events helps get the business community involved in promoting our school. |

My School Matters Fund Drive |
This is a new fundraising idea this year that is expected to bring in the bulk of our funds. The fund drive is a month-long school-wide effort similar to a public radio station fund drive. All families will participate by collectively raising $175,000 or more by the end of the month. An individual Web link will be created for each Westlake family to send to their friends and relatives asking for donations to support them and Westlake Charter School. The My School Matters Fund Drive will have no more than $1000 of operating expenses. This fundraiser is being chaired by Lisa Casalegno and planning help is needed in web support, packet preparation, and tracking of incoming funds. |

Taste of the Town/World Reception with Silent/Live Auction |
This event will replace Viva Las Vegas and will focus on attracting the participation and attendance of more of our Westlake families. We are moving the International Festival Auction to this event and will include both a silent and live auction where items are collected/donated and put up for guests to bid on and win during the evening. The auction will include our exciting teacher auction trips as well as sought after classroom art projects. Local ethnic restaurants will be asked to participate in this event to reflect our school’s focus on international connections and get some of our local businesses involved. Event is slated for late February/Early March and is being chaired by Tracy Roman. This will be the most time-consuming event to plan and will need many sub-committees to oversee reception/food, auction, tickets, invitations/publicity, and program. |

$40,000 |
Trip Raffle |
This fundraiser is still in the idea stage but will involve the participation of all Westlake Charter families by providing each family with a certain number of raffle tickets to be sold with the prize being a free trip including lodging and airfare. There will be a limited number of tickets sold to give ticket holders a better chance of winning. There will be an initial 2 weeks of tickets sales, after which time, unsold tickets are to be returned to school so they can be redistributed to people who need more to sell. Winning ticket will be picked and announced at the International Festival. There are minor expenses, as long as much of the trip is donated. Most of the work for this event will involve securing the trip, printing the raffle tickets, and promoting the sales. This fundraiser is chaired by Jon Corr and ticket sales will take place during the month of April, to be announced at the International Festival in May. |

Grants/Corporate Sponsorship of Westlake Charter School |
The WAVE Fundraising Committee will seek out grants as well as solicit businesses to sponsor a part of our school, rather than an event. This might include the Garden, Library, Art Room, etc. The business would have a plaque or other appropriate recognition for their sponsorship and would be invited to attend a special reception in their honor. Shawna Sheean will be chairing the grant seeking part and we are still looking for people to help with Corporate Sponsorships. |

$20,000 |
Smaller Fundraisers (less than $10,000) |
Smaller fundraisers are all other fundraisers that bring in less than $10,000 and include the spell/jog-a-thon, family nights, e-scrip, box top collection, printer cartridge recycling, International Festival, etc. Some of these fundraisers will be organized by the school while others or headed by WAVE Fundraising. |
